Scontrino "in the Percussion Class, graduating in 2003 with top marks under the guidance of Maestra Fulvia Ricevuto.
In 2006 he obtained the Diploma of Specialization under the guidance of Maestro Mircea Ardeleanu at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano getting the mention cum laude. In the same year he won a study grant Raiffeisen. In 2007 he obtained a Diploma in Music Methodology under the guidance of Maestro Mike Quinn and in 2008 the soloist diploma under the guidance of Maestro’s Bernard Wulff, Johannes Fischer and Domenico Melchiorre obtaining in both cases the mention cum laude.
He participates as a xylophonist at the Festival Martha Argerich Project in "Les Noces" by Igor Stravinsky in Lugano with the Ensemble "Lugano Percussion Group". The prestigious record label Deutsche Grammophon, produced the live cd. Over the years he has been working with various groups and orchestras such as "Zephir Ensemble", "Gli Armonici", "Orchestra Kandisky", "Orchestra da Camera Siciliana", ”Ars Ludi” "Sicelides Musae" “l’Orchestra di Taormina”, “Orchestra da Camera di Lugano”, “Ensemble 900’ la Basel Sinfonietta” and with “Lugano Percussion Group“ with whom he played on tour in Romania, Brazil, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia and Germany (Internationalen Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt).
He is an extra-percussionist at the "Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana", under conductors such as Heinz Holliger, Alain Lombard, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Markus Poschner, Alexander Vedernikov, Alain Pâris, Howard Shelley, Diego Fasolis and others. In 2010 he composed the music for the documentary of Luigi Pirandello “Nella terra del caos" directed by Alberto Castiglione.
He was artist director of “1000 Beats European Drum & Percussion Academy 2017”, with guests as Evelyn Glennie, Leigh Howard Stevens, Jojo Mayer and Chris Coleman.
He currently teaches percussion in the music school and the pre-college section of the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana.
